Liz’s birthday month! Celebrating with a 4 day break, starting with Busch Gardens — Iron Gwanzi was impressive. Then pool time, spa day, steakhouse, and time on the beach. Ten years from now, that sunset is the thing I’ll remember. Hope the kids do too. I much prefer the beaches on the west side of Florida, calmer waters, wider sandy beaches.

Karate was consistent through April. The West Palm Beach competition was another good haul for the kids — three years in and still raking in medals. For Liz and I it’s about the next belt. We should train more but really the key is just staying mobile at this later stage of life.

Sapphire had a tough one at Universal — called out for an Apple Tracker, which blew up into something bigger. She’s the smallest but she pushes back the hardest, that’s just who she is. And the cruise fell through at the end of the month, $1500 gone. Annoying, but we got it back as credit. Swings and roundabouts.

Weight barely moved all month — hovering between 161.5 and 162.9, mostly stuck in the 162s. Flat is fine given the birthday trip, the steak dinners, and the Outback visit. Sleep was inconsistent through the middle stretch of the month. Mood tracked fairly even, with the expected dip toward the end when the cruise fell apart.
